Rob has been an active photographer since his High School days. His first camera was an Olympus OM-1 and his interest was and still is outdoor photography. After graduating UCD with a BS in Zoology, Rob attended graduate school at CSU Sacramento. During his graduate studies at CSU Sacramento, Rob was hired into the CA Department of Fish and Game as a Graduate Student Assistant caring for sick and injured wildlife while working at the Wildlife Disease laboratory located then on the CSU campus. Eventually Rob was hired full-time with DFG as a game warden and ended his 34 year career with DFG retiring as a Deputy Director for the Regional Operations Division in December 2007. All during his career his camera was never far from reach.
Rob, a long time resident of Davis, is married to Dale Hoffman-Floerke and they have two sons, Zachary and Wyatt. Rob continues to follow his interest in photography and the outdoors and is also very active with the Yolo Basin Foundation. Rob is a docent with the Foundation participating in the Discover the Flyway program for students K thru 6 as well as assisting with public tours of the DFG Yolo Bypass wildlife area on the second Saturday of each month during Fall, Winter and Spring months.
