The Rotary Club of Davis is working with our community to help prevent child abuse. Their program, which began in 1999 by Rotarian Bud Wolf, has been very effective in raising awareness about child abuse. And has also contributed thousands of dollars to several organizations specializing in child abuse prevention.
An estimated 872,000 children were victims of child abuse or neglect in 2004 (U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, 2006). While physical injuries may or may not be immediately visible, abuse and neglect can have consequences for children, families, and society that last lifetimes, if not generations. These kind of statistics are alarming! We as a community can help lower the number of abuse cases by getting involved.
Our Photography Club Members contributed in the Annual CAPP Fundraiser by auctioning framed photographs at the Fundraiser Silent Auction.
